About Backupper
Backupper is a powerful and flexible data backup utility. It allows to easily create backup copies of important data even for inexperienced users. However it will help professionals as well by providing an efficient way to automate regular backups of large amount of data on a flexible schedule.
Main features of the program:
-
Every set of data may have its own schedule of automatic backup. Backupper will automatically start the backup on time. You can specify several backup parameters for the same data set.
-
It is possible to specify individual backup parameters for each data set.
-
Every time backup is written to a new file. This secures that older files with correct data will not be overwritten by a newer file with damaged data. To save disk space you can specify maximum number of backups stored for every data set. Upon reaching this number the oldest backup will be deleted from disk before creating a new backup. You can also make the backup stationary — it will not be deleted regardless of the creation date.
-
Automatic replication mode allows to copy new backups into specified directories (including network shared). Thus you can keep several backup copies on different computers to avoid data loss in case of computer failure.
-
When restoring a backup into data directory files in that directory will be copied into a temporary archive. You can use data from the backup and then roll back, restoring old files from the archive to the initial state.
-
You can set and modify backup parameters in the automatic backup mode.
-
It is possible to set up backup parameters from the remote computer. You can set up automatic backup on the server from a workstation (only in Backupper Professional)
-
Simultaneous backups of several data sets at a time.
-
It is possible to move backups to floppy disks. The backup can be split into volumes of disk size.
-
Does not require external archivation program.
Other functions:
-
Backup password protection;
-
Automatic notifications (backup report, etc.) through mail via MAPI;
-
Logging of events (creation/restoration of backups, changing backup parameters etc.). You can view the log and track all events at any time;
-
It is possible to view the contents of any backup as well as backup comments.
Technical features:
-
Backupper uses compression fully compatible with PKZIP/PKUNZIP/WinZip.
-
Total size of files included in a backup cannot exceed 3 Gb.
-
You can access Backupper through the network. Several users can simultaneously work with the same sections and backups.
-
Internet Explorer 5 or higher is required.
