Section parameters: "Options" tab

"Options" page appears only if Full mode was selected at the first page of the section creation wizard.

This page allows to set extra options determining the backup procedure.

"Check backup data consistency". If the checkbox is set Backupper will track data consistency during a manual or automatic backup and warn if the files were updated during backup.

"Put off backup if consistency check failed". This checkbox is available only when the "Check backup data consistency" checkbox is set. If both checkboxes are set, backup will be postponed for the user specifed period and then the section will be backed up anew. Time to put off is specified in the field to the right. This option is actual only for automatic backup.

"Put off backup if the files are locked". If the files to put into backup are locked and this checkbox is set, Backupper will postpone the backup for the user specifed period and then the section will be backed up anew. Time to put off is specified in the field to the right. This option is actual only for automatic backup.

"Backup only if the data have been updated". If the checkbox is set a new backup will be created only if the files have been updated since the latest backup. Backupper checks properties of file (matching section template) and if some of the files were updated the backup is created. Otherwise automatic backup is not created (event is logged); Backupper will prompt for procedeing with manual backup. If the checkbox is not set the check for updates will never occur.

"Do not backup if time to next backup is less than ... (h)". This option determines Backupper's behavior in situations when regular backup time was missed for some reason. If the checkbox is not set, Backupper Engine will create backup for this section immediately upon startup. If the checkbox is set, Backupper calculates the time span until next backup time. If the time span is less than the specified interval, Backupper waits until the next backup time. Otherwise, the section is backed up immediately. Here the terms "regular" and "next" mean the following:

You can specify backup task priority: low, normal or high. Low priority will slow down the process but other tasks will not be hindered. High priority tasks run fast but other applications may be inhibited. Recommended setting is normal (set by default).
