Task types

Task is an action performed by Backupper. Tasks can be started manually (on the user's call, for instance, by choosing a command in the menu) or automatically (on schedule at the specified time). The most important task performed by Backupper is archiving, or creating backups. Backupper can also restore (unpack) previosly created backups, view backup properties and contents, export/import/delete backups etc. Currently only backup task may be performedv automatically (on schedule).

Every task is linked to a particular section. For instance, backup task is linked to backup section; restoration task is linked to the section containing the backup to restore.

A task can have one of the following statuses:

pending: waits till its time comes on schedule;
active: running at the present time;
paused: was started automatically or manually and then paused by user.

Main Manager window has each task status shown in the "Status" column of the section pane. No icon means absence of tasks: either no automatic backup was scheduled for the section, or this is not a section but a profile or a group.
